If you love feta, this baked feta recipe will become your favorite appetizer. This is a popular Greek meze you can find at almost every tavern throughout the country. But you don’t have to visit Greece or go to a Greek tavern to enjoy it. It is so simple that you can make it yourselves. You can enjoy this meze (this is how we call an appetizer in Greek) as a light meal, along with a Greek salad and some Greek pita. Additionally, you can serve it as a side dish to almost anything, from grilled meat to baked vegetables.

The simplicity of Greek cuisine surprises me all the time. This delicious baked feta recipe is easy to make as no cooking skills are required. The only thing you need is the ingredients. Most probably, you already have most of the ingredients in your kitchen. It goes without saying that the better the quality of the ingredients you use, the most delicious the outcome. I find this recipe handy when I have a last-minute visit and didn’t have the time to prepare anything special. Serve it with some good wine and you will satisfy even your most demanding friend!

This baked feta recipe requires the following ingredients: feta cheese, tomato, green pepper (optional), oregano, Greek olive oil, and bukovo spice. Bukovo is a Balkan spice and is made of dried red peppers. It can be sweat or chilly depending on the recipe. This spice is popular in Northen Greece. For this baked feta recipe, I prefer to use its chilly version.

This authentic baked feta recipe, which serves 4 persons, takes 15 minutes to prepare and around 40 minutes to bake. Furthermore. you may also find this traditional recipe named as feta psiti. Either way, it is delicious!
