Tirosalata Recipe: A Traditional Feta Cheese Spread

Tirosalata (or tyrosalata), a feta cheese spread, is a delicious traditional Greek appetizer. This is one of the most popular dips and you can find it in any traditional tavern. But why go to a tavern when you can make it yourself? If you have a demanding daily schedule, it is sometimes important to know some easy yet mouthwatering recipes. And this tirosalata recipe is original, easy and delightful!

There are two secrets that I want you to take notice of this tirosalata recipe. First, always use the original Greek feta cheese. Only Greece produces original feta cheese! All other countries just copy the trademark without the same quality taste. Second, this tirosalata recipe also contains ricotta cheese. Although it may be quite fattening and high in calories, ricotta has a high nutritional value of the vitamins and minerals it contains. As ricotta comes from whey milk, it is rich in protein. A serving of this cheese contains 7.5 g of carbs and 27.7 g of protein.

Full of proteins, this tirosalata recipe is delicious to eat with toasted bread and crackers. There is another less spicy version of this Greek feta cheese spread that I will soon share with you.

This feta dip recipe, which requires no cooking skills, serves 6 persons and takes only 15 minutes to prepare.
