Makaronia Me Kima: A Traditional Greek Spaghetti Recipe

Makaronia me kima (μακαρόνια με κιμά) is the name of Greek pasta with meat sauce. Rich in taste, this traditional spaghetti dish will become one of your favorite ones. No wonder, my kids and everyone else in the family loves it.

Makaronia me kima is a hearty, yet easy to make, Greek traditional spaghetti dish. Although similar to the Italian bolognese, it is quite different in taste. To create this mouthwatering dish you will need spaghetti, ground beef, salt, tomato sauce or finely chopped tomatoes, parsley, Greek olive oil, pepper, cinnamon and grated mizithra cheese. In case you cook the ground beef with fresh tomatoes, you may need to add some sugar if the sauce is sour.

This traditional makaronia me kima recipe takes you around 20 minutes to prepare and 45-50 minutes to cook and it serves 5 persons.
