Lahanosalata: A Traditional Greek Cabbage Salad

Lahanosalata is the name of the traditional Greek cabbage salad! Today, I had chicken fillet and I didn’t know what to eat it with. I wasn’t in the mood to cook anything complicated as a side dish. So, I decided to prepare a lahanosalata!

For this specific lahanosalata recipe you need cabbage, carrots, Greek olive oil, balsamic (or vinegar), feta (optional), oregano, garlic powder, and salt. It took me less than 20 minutes to make it and was a splendid idea. I had forgotten how ambrosial this salad tastes. This was so delightful, I ended up eating all of the salad and didn’t eat the chicken fillet! This Greek cabbage salad can be a side dish to any meat meal. Actually, it is so hearty, it is an ideal dinner choice. One tip I would give is to go easy on the salt, as the feta is already salty.

Ideal for your health and your waistline, this lahanosalata recipe serves 2-4 persons and it takes less than 20 minutes to prepare!
