Kourabiethes with Walnuts (Kourabiethes me Karidia)

The best thing about Christmas is getting together with your family and friends! So, if you are aiming to surprise your loved ones this holiday season, you need to try this kourabiethes with walnuts recipe! As you may know by now, kourabiethes (also known as kourambiethes) is one of Greeks’ favorite Christmas cookies. Kourabiethes me karidia is an amazing variation to the traditional popular version you might have tasted as this one uses walnuts instead of almonds!  My aunt Vicky makes them every Christmas to treat family and friends and she is the one that shared this recipe.

So, if you are looking for something exceptional for your festive table, kourabiethes with walnuts (κουραμπιέδες με καρύδια in Greek), will add an extraordinary note.

To make kourabiethes me karidia, you need the following ingredients:  walnuts, semolina, breadcrumbs, eggs, sugar, butter, cognac, rose water and powdered sugar.

This kourabiethes with walnuts recipe is ideal if you are planning to throw a party on Christmas or New Year Eve as it gives around 100 pieces. It takes around one hour to prepare and 30 minutes to bake. Prepare yourself for something different, yet surprisingly mouthwatering, to what you expect!
