Discover the savory charm of Garides Saganaki, a delightful Greek dish featuring succulent shrimp cooked in a tomato-based sauce, topped with luscious feta cheese. Traditionally prepared in a small frying pan known as 'saganaki,' any oven-proof ceramic dish will do just fine.

In Greek cuisine, this delectable dish is cherished as both an appetizer and meze. To prepare Garides Saganaki, shrimp is sautéed with garlic, onions, and tomatoes in fragrant olive oil, while herbs and spices like oregano, parsley, and red pepper flakes are added to elevate the taste. The crowning touch comes with a generous sprinkle of crumbled feta cheese, followed by a quick broil in the oven for that irresistible golden melt.

For an authentic touch, consider using ouzo, a dry anise-flavored Greek aperitif, which imparts a unique depth of flavor. You can easily find ouzo at any Greek store. The harmonious blend of sweet, tender shrimp, zesty tomato sauce, and creamy feta cheese ensures a seafood masterpiece loved by all.

Pair your Garides Saganaki with crusty bread or pita to savor every drop of the savory sauce. For an exquisite experience, opt for fresh prawns and premium Greek feta cheese. This authentic shrimp saganaki recipe serves four and takes just 10 minutes to prepare, followed by 20 minutes of cooking time.
