 Psari plaki is the name of the traditional Greek baked fish and is one of the most popular dishes since Greece is surrounded by the sea on three sides. For this psari plaki recipe, you can use cod, haddock, or bluefish fillets. Any of these fishes will perfectly work. Psari plaki requires the following ingredients: fish fillets, Greek olive oil, onion, parsley, tomatoes, salt, and paper. 

This traditional psari plaki recipe takes around 25 minutes to prepare and 30 minutes to cook. It serves 4 persons.

Psari Plaki - Ingredients 

  • 1 kg of fish fillets
  • 2 tbsp. of Greek olive oil
  • ½ tsp. of salt
  • ¼ tsp. of pepper
  • 2 tbsp. of lemon juice
  • 1 medium onion thinly sliced.
  • 1 tbsp. of finely chopped fresh parsley.
  • 230 g of tomato sauce

Psari Plaki - How to Make

  1. Start this authentic psari plaki recipe by preheating the oven to 350ºF. 
  2. Take a 9 13-inch baking pan and brush it with olive oil. Place the fish fillets in the baking pan. 
  3. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and lemon juice. 
  4. Place onion slices on top of the fish and sprinkle parsley over all. 
  5. Drain tomatoes and scatter over fish, onions, and parsley. 
  6. Place baking dish on middle oven rack and bake 30 minutes, or until tender, basting occasionally with pan juices.
  7. Serve hot.
