Revithia Recipe: A Traditional Greek Chickpea Soup

Although this revithia recipe has a long preparation process, it is absolutely worth the effort it. As revithia is hearty and full of vitamins and fibers, this is one of my favorite soups especially when the weather is cold. To cook this mouthwatering Greek chickpea soup, you will need chickpeas, onions, parsley, laurel, oregano, celery, Greek olive oil, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Instead of the lemon juice, you can use fresh tomato. The night before you decide to cook revithia, put them in a bowl full of water in order to soak. Keep in the bowl for at least 12 hours. This revithia recipe, which serves 4 to 6 persons, takes 30 minutes to prepare and around 1 to 1 ½ hours to cook.
