Mila Psita: A Baked Stuffed Apple Recipe

Apple is one of my favorite fruits. I just love it. It also happens to be one of the healthiest fruits around! Its health benefits list goes on and on. So, if I can make it a dessert, I love it even more! I learned this baked stuffed (or mila psita) recipe from my aunt. I had visited her and she had made this in front of me to treat me. It took her just 30 minutes to make it. I was absolutely amazed! This baked stuffed apple recipe is great if you are looking for a healthy, quick and easy dessert recipe. And it is not just the apples that make this recipe healthy! Just do research on almonds and walnuts health benefits and you will be amazed.

To make it even healthier, instead of sugar you can use stevia. This way, you will have the same sweet taste with fewer carbs and calories.

Baked Stuffed Apple (or Mila Psita) Recipe – Ingredients

  • 4 Empire apples
  • 2 soup spoons of brown raisins
  • 3-4 soup spoons of stevia (depending on how sweet you like baked stuffed apples)
  • 2 soup spoons of almonds, chopped
  • 2 soup spoons of walnuts, chopped

Baked Stuffed Apple (or Mila Psita) Recipe – Directions

  1. Wash well the apples.
  2. Let them drain.
  3. Preheat oven at medium temperature.
  4. Take a knife and carefully remove core and seeds from apples.
  5. Take a bowl. Add raisins, almonds, and walnuts. Mix them well.
  6. Make four portions of the mixture.
  7. Add the mixture to the apples.
  8. Carefully, place the apples into a small oven dish.
  9. Add some water.
  10. Cover apples with greaseproof paper.
  11. Finally, place silver foil paper on top of the greaseproof paper.
  12. Bake your stuffed apples for around 20 minutes.
  13. Allow baked stuffed apples to cool down a little bit.
  14. Transfer the baked stuffed apples to small bowls with a spoon.
  15. Serve.
