Greek Moussaka Recipe With Yogurt – Ingredients

  • 500 g of lean ground beef 
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 3 ground cloves
  • 3 eggplants
  • 2 potatoes, boiled
  • 2 big tomatoes, well chopped
  • 1 onion, well chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/4 cup of Greek olive oil
  • 400 g of zero fat Greek yogurt
  • 60 g of yellow cheese, grated
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Parsley

Greek Moussaka Recipe With Yogurt – Instructions

  1. Start this Greek moussaka recipe with yogurt by taking a skillet and adding some oil. Allow it to simmer and add the ground beef. Add salt, pepper, and some garlic. After beef is browned, add cinnamon stick and ground cloves. Simmer for 20 minutes and allow it to cool.
  2. Wash well the eggplants. Pierce them in several places with a fork.
  3. Put enough water in a pot.
  4. When water is boiled enough, add eggplants.
  5. Put the lid on the pot. Boil for about 20 minutes.
  6. Cut the boiled potatoes into slices.
  7. Drain well the boiled ground beef.
  8. Put the fresh tomatoes in a pan with some oil.
  9. Add onion, salt, pepper, garlic cloves, and parsley.
  10. Add boiled ground beef to the pot and let it simmer for around 5-10 minutes.
  11. Preheat your oven to 482 °F.
  12. Drain well eggplants. They should be soft enough now.
  13. Peel eggplants. Cut them into thick slices.
  14. Take a baking dish. Add some oil. Place half of the eggplants and top them with half of the potatoes.
  15. Now, evenly spread the minced meat mixture.
  16. Cover with the remaining potatoes and eggplants.
  17. Take a bowl. Put the yogurt and eggs.
  18. Beat well with the food stirrer.
  19. Spread the mixture in the baking dish.
  20. Sprinkle with the grated cheese.
  21. Lower temperature to 392 ° F.
  22. Place moussaka in the oven.
  23. Bake for about 30 minutes.
  24. Allow moussaka to slightly cool.
  25. Cut into pieces and serve.
