Garlic Olive Oil Pasta

First day at work after Christmas holidays and I wanted to make something easy and delicious. This garlic olive oil pasta dish is a really convenient meal solution if you are hungry and want to make something quickly.  I used to make this a lot when I was a college student. So, as you can understand, no really cooking skills are required. Just follow the instructions! This garlic olive oil pasta recipe will take you only around 15 minutes to prepare and 25-35 minutes to cook. It serves 4 persons.

Garlic Olive Oil Pasta – Ingredients

  • 500 g of spaghetti
  • 4 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 1 spoon of tomato sauce
  • 1 spoon of basil or parsley, finely chopped
  • Greek olive oil
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Parmesan or mizithra cheese, grated (optional)

Garlic Olive Oil Pasta – Instructions

  1. Take a large pot. Add water and salt. You should add around 1 tablespoon of salt for every 2 quarts of water.
  2. Bring to boil.
  3. Once the water is at a rolling boil, add the pasta. Cook according to package directions.
  4. Once done, drain the pasta. Place spaghetti again in the pot. Add some olive oil and stir.
  5. Try to keep the spaghetti as warm as possible.
  6. Take a saucepan and add the olive oil. Bring to boil over medium heat.
  7. Add the chopped garlic and saute it.
  8. Dissolve tomato sauce into one 1 teacup of water.
  9. Add dissolved tomato sauce, finely chopped basil or parsley, salt, and pepper.
  10. Cook for one minute or until the garlic olive oil sauce thickens.
  11. Taste to see if additional salt is needed. Add to taste.
  12. Remove saucepan from heat.
  13. Take a large bowl and place the spaghetti.
  14. Pour garlic and olive sauce over the pasta.
  15. Gently toss to combine.
  16. Sprinkle Parmesan or mizithra cheese (optional) and pepper over the pasta.
  17. Serve right away
